Ticket Reservations
Tickets for all six shows of our main stage season are reserved seating. Additional performances such as fundraisers, reader’s theatre, and studio shows are typically general admission (seating is on a first-come, first-served basis) but may be purchased in advance. Our theatre asks that every person attending a show purchase a ticket. Infants will not be allowed in the theatre for a performance. Small children may sit on a lap, but still require the purchase of ticket.
Ticket reservations will be accepted via phone or in person during office hours. Because it can sometimes be unreliable, we ask that you not make reservations via e-mail. We are located at 1517 Lake Air Dr. near the Extraco Events Center. To reserve tickets or contact the box office staff by phone, please call 254-776-1591.
When reserving tickets via phone, we will ask you for your name, a phone number where you can be reached, the date, type and number of tickets you’ll be reserving, a credit card number and the expiration date of that card. Some credit cards require further information (for example the 3 digit card code on the back) to complete the transaction. In this case, we will contact you at the phone number given. Your credit card will be charged at the time the reservation is made. If you have already pre-paid for your tickets through subscription or other means, or are redeeming ticket vouchers or gift certificates, we will not require a credit card from you to hold your seats.
Our small staff of office employees has many duties at the theatre in addition to completing box office reservations. If you do not reach an employee when you call, kindly leave a message in the appropriate voicemail box and we will make every effort to call you back as soon as possible. When reserving tickets via phone message, please leave your name, phone number, date for which you’d like to reserve tickets, and the number of tickets needed. This allows us to take ticket reservations in the order they are received even when we are busy or serving other customers. Note that a reservation is not final until payment is received.
Payment
All ticket reservations must be paid in advance with cash, check, or debit/credit card (Visa and MasterCard only). We no longer accept Discover and at this time we do not accept American Express. The theatre will allow a reservation to be held without pre-pay, only with a valid credit card number. This card will be charged in the event that you do not claim your ticket the day of the performance and we were unable to re-sell your seat to someone waiting at the door.
Refund Policy
The Waco Civic Theatre has a policy of no refunds on ticket purchases. However, we are pleased to continue our liberal exchange policies. If you or someone you know cannot use your tickets, simply call the box office at least 48 hours prior to the performance date, and you can either exchange them for another date of the same show, or donate them to the theatre. Please realize that seating availability for other performances may be limited. Since we’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, if you release tickets to the box office, your donation is 100% tax deductible.
Ticket Exchange
In the event that you cannot make it to your regularly scheduled performance, simply call and let us know at least 48 hours before the original ticket date. We will be happy to exchange your tickets for another performance if possible. However, this does not mean you will have the same seats as before. We will do our best to seat you as close to your original seats as possible. Your new tickets will be held for you at the Box Office. If tickets need to be exchanged past the 48 hour deadline, a $5 handling fee will be applied. Tickets may not be exchanged after your performance has passed and no refund will be offered. Also, tickets may only be exchanged for another performance of the same show.
Lost Tickets
Should you lose your tickets, just let us know and we will provide you with a new set. Replacement tickets will be held at the Box Office.
Door Sales
Tickets are sold at the door of each performance if available. Popular shows and musicals can sell out quickly, so please take advantage of advance ticket sales by calling or visiting the Box Office. In the event of a sold out performance, unclaimed tickets are sold on a first come-first served basis, so be sure to register your name at the box office window upon your arrival to be put on the waiting list.
Arrival Times It is a good idea for those with tickets in hand to arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time (sometimes referred to as curtain). Those needing to claim tickets at the box office should plan on arriving at least 15 to 20 minutes prior to curtain. If a show is not sold out, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the house manager and may have to wait for an appropriate time to be seated.
Unclaimed Tickets
In the event of a sold-out performance, unclaimed non-subscriber tickets are released for sale in the theatre lobby 10 minutes before curtain. If you arrive after this time, we can offer no refunds but are willing to make an exchange for another performance of the same show. If this is not possible, we can offer you a credit for a tax-deductible donation to the Waco Civic Theatre for the cost of your ticket. Please keep in mind that because the office employees are busy with assisting patrons who are claiming tickets, calls notifying the office of your late arrival may not be received within the 45 minutes prior to curtain.
Group Sales
The Waco Civic Theatre will at times offer a discounted ticket rate to groups of 10 or more. If you are interested in purchasing tickets for a group, please call the box office at 254-776-1591. We ask that tickets for your group be paid in full when the reservation is made. We can hold a large group of tickets only 48 hours without payment therefore, if you need time to collect or organize funds for your group, it is recommended that you do this well in advance of an upcoming show. Some shows sell out very quickly. Immediate payment (or payment at the time of reservation) will be required for group reservations made within the 48 hour window prior to a performance. Refunds will not be offered for any unused tickets.
